Reception

Each week we will put on the activities which the children will be learning in class. This will help you as parents to reinforce the work which we have covered in class. So for example if we were learning about money you could practise using coins whilst out shopping, when learning about 2D shapes you might hunt for them on a family walk, etc.

Week Beginning 28th September:

Literacy:  This week we have continued our class book The Colour Monster.  During Drawing Club we learn new vocabulary.  Here are the words we are learning this week:

discombobulated, assist, enraged, sobbing, shimmering, timid - see if your child can tell you what they mean.

Phonics:  The children are in two groups, either Mrs Kenny/ Mrs Pickup’s group, or Mrs Stockburn’s group.  Under ‘Spelling and Phonics’, we will put on each week what phonemes (sounds) your child is learning.  There will also be spellings on if you wish to practise these at home.

RE:  We continue our theme of ‘I’m Special’, and have discussed why we have names, and discussed how God has our names in the palm of his hands.
