Welcome to Year 5 2025 - 2026

This is the place where you will find out about what we have been up to in class, information about work and routines and also pictures of our fab pupils learning.

The page should contain all of the information you should need throughout the year and includes a box where you can contact school if you have any questions. As the year progresses, further down the page you will find photos and videos showing what your child has been getting up to in school. We hope you enjoy looking through these and
that you find the resources provided helpful and useful.

Here you will find the weekly spellings for your child. Pupils will be given the spellings on a Monday morning and tested on them the following Friday. If your child requires a different set of spellings to the ones posted on here they will be given them in class to bring home.

Spellings - Week beginning Monday 15th September - Silent Letters

Welcome to the Year 5 homework page. In addition to the daily reading and spelling practise, homework will be posted here each Friday and due the following Thursday. Pupils have a homework book in which they can complete their work.

Homework will usually be linked to something we have been looking at in class. As a rough guide it should take about 20 minutes although some pupils will want to spend longer on it.

If pupils are struggling with it I will happily talk it through with them at school if they make me aware before the Thursday it is due in.

Please feel free to work with your child on their homework: some of the tasks might require a little adult assistance!

Thank you.

Make sure each item begins with the same letter as the letter at the top of the column. So in the fruit row you need a fruit beginning with a C, an L, an I, a V and so on..
